Roman Empire Sim

A visual novel set in Ancient Rome where climbing the social ladder is driven by a resource and production economy. Players manage productions tied to a map, collect outputs each in-game day, and spend earned resources to fulfill orders. Completing orders advances the narrative, unlocks new content, and earns money to spend on upgrades and entertainment.

SYSTEMS:

  • Orders & Production — multiple production types generate resources over time. Players allocate resources to fulfill event orders, with scaling complexity and rewards.

  • Relationships — building relationships with characters levels up Virtūs, passive skills that improve production efficiency. Players can give gifts, initiate dates, and interact daily — each relationship level unlocks new content and story.

  • Energy & Progression — actions cost energy and reward XP. XP drives progression through 10 player levels, each opening new content and mechanics.

  • Bettingchariot races with variable odds and payout coefficients; gladiator tournaments in single-elimination format across 7 bouts; thermopolium drinks that grant random buffs at increased risk and higher potential reward
